THE SALVATION EQUATION
We now KNOW — from the true meaning (revealed in chapters 9 & 10) behind God’s creation of an “Israelite Bondage-to-Promise-Land” story — the Biblical path to salvation (or obtaining eternal life in the Kingdom of God) is an A + B = C equation:
(A) Mankind’s Repentance
+ (B) God’s Forgiveness of Sin
= (C) Eternal Life
In other words, for a soul to obtain eternal life it MUST REPENT of SIN — which is totally and completely defined by a soul making a choice to turn from willful disobedience to willful obedience of God’s 10 Love Commandments. When a soul chooses to live its daily life on Earth in this manner, God will choose (on the Day of Atonement) to apply Christ’s “sinless sacrificial spiritual death” as full payment (or ransom) for the sins that soul committed on Earth. And when THIS happens, it means that soul has officially been “forgiven of its sin”, because the “spiritual death penalty” for the “wages of sin” no longer applies to it, which automatically returns the soul to perfect spiritual union with God, which means eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
Now, please understand term “B” in the salvation equation is a fact for EVERY single soul on planet Earth, no matter when or where they lived, or if they ever heard about the story of Jesus or not! In other words, “forgiveness for sins” is available to ALL mankind because Jesus died for EVERYONE! Do you understand? See, millions of people have lived and died on Earth having never heard of him or his story, but did that matter towards the eternal destiny of their soul? NO!!! Nor do your thoughts on the matter. Truth is truth! It cannot be changed. No matter what you think (or don’t think) about the “earthly story of Jesus”, it will not change the fact that “B” still sits there available to you.
“He (Jesus Christ) died for ALL so that all who live … might live no longer for themselves, but to spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and rose again for them” (II Corinthians 5:15, Living Bible).
Many people today (mostly in Churchianity) think ALL they have to DO to obtain eternal life is hear the story of Jesus (born of a virgin, died on a cross, rose again, etc.) and then make a mental acknowledgment that that story is true (meaning he did those things for them). Then, they sit and foolishly wonder what happens to all the people who never hear the story of Jesus? Friend, this is ALL a satanic LIE!!! Again, your thoughts (or lack of thoughts) concerning “B” in the salvation equation will NOT change the fact that God’s “forgiveness of sin” (through Jesus) is available to you, nor will they obtain your soul eternal life. The ONLY thing that will is YOUR REPENTANCE.
So, knowing all of this, it is profitable that we take a long look at ALL the Bible has to say about REPENTANCE. And there is a lot! This chapter will focus on the term “Bearing Fruit” and how it relates to “repentance”.
THE VINE
“Bearing Fruit” is just another Biblical term describing someone who “obeys the 10 Love Commandments”. The word “good” is usually left out but understood in the phrase “bearing fruit”. Therefore, someone who “bears (good) fruit” is really just someone who thinks and does the deeds of love. They don’t steal but give; they don’t lie but tell the truth; they don’t hate but forgive, etc. (See chapter 11 Love for a detailed list of the 10 Love Commandments.)
Jesus likened the process of “bearing fruit” in a person’s life as if they were spiritually connected to the “vine of love” — which is God (or Him) — thus, producing the thoughts and deeds of obeying the 10 Love Commandments:
“I AM the true vine … Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot BEAR FRUIT of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth MUCH FRUIT … If ye abide in me, and my WORDS abide in you … that ye BEAR MUCH FRUIT; so shall ye be my disciples … continue ye in my love. If ye keep my (10 Love) Commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s Commandments, and abide in his love” (John 15:7-10).
Ah, do you see it? Do you see the connection? “Obeying the 10 Love Commandments” equals “abiding in Christ’s words” which describes someone who “bears good fruit”. ONLY in that state (or condition) does someone prove they are a disciple of Christ. Do you see? Church attendance doesn’t prove it. Mentally acknowledging that Jesus is the Messiah doesn’t prove it. ONLY “bearing the good fruit of love” proves it! That is why Jesus rightly said:
“By THIS shall all men know that ye are my disciples, IF ye have LOVE one to another” (John 13:35).
EVIL BRANCHES BURNED WITH FIRE
The Bible says people who live their life in willing disobedience to God’s 10 Love Commandments are people who “bear evil fruit”. And for this, their souls will be gathered and burned by FIRE in the End — an obvious reference to the “casting into the lake of fire” at the final Judgment. Listen to Jesus:
“If a man abide NOT in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the FIRE, and they are BURNED” (John 15:6).
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every GOOD tree bringeth forth GOOD FRUIT; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth EVIL FRUIT … Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit (love) is hewn down, and cast into the FIRE” (Matthew 7:16-19).
Friend, it cannot be any clearer! You will obtain eternal life because you have done mankind’s part of REPENTANCE in the salvation equation — which means your soul will have changed from willful disobedience to willful obedience of God’s 10 Love Commandments (“bearing the good fruit of love”). And THAT continual journey of REPENTANCE is what will prompt God to forgive your sins through the Messiah Jesus Christ’s work of atonement, garnishing your soul entrance into the Promise Land (Kingdom of God).
“For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What FRUIT had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God (Love), ye have your (good) FRUIT unto holiness, and the end everlasting life” (Romans 7:20-22).
But if you refuse to REPENT (change) from your evil (non-loving) thoughts and deeds, your soul will perish in the wilderness (in a lake of fire) having never obtained the Promise Land. That is why John the Baptist cried:
“Bring forth therefore (Good) FRUIT meet (worthy) of REPENTANCE … And now also the axe is laid (marked) unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire” (Matthew 3:8-10).
