MORE SECOND COMING PROPHECY

The story of Joshua commanding the Israelite army and conquering the city of Jericho to lead the Israelites into the Promise Land (after 40 years of journeying in the wilderness) is the concluding scene of God’s prophetic message He delivered to mankind, by creating and controlling the whole Israelite bondage-to-Promise-Land account.  To be blunt, the “Jericho battle scene” is really more detailed, secret prophecy concerning the events immediately preceding and including Jesus Christ’s 2nd Coming, which will culminate during mankind’s 6,000th year with the setting up of his millennial Sabbath day kingdom reign on planet Earth!

Therefore, just like the stories of Noah and Lot are prophetic stories about Christ’s 2nd Coming, so too is this story of Joshua and the Israelites invading and destroying Jericho.  In the stories of Noah and Lot (from chapters 4 & 7, respectively) we learned from the prophetic details that during Christ’s 2nd Coming one HOUSE of people — representing the “House of Christ” made up of all the repentant, righteous souls who ever lived on planet Earth — will rise up off of Earth’s surface into the air by the assistance of angels during mankind’s 6,000th year, while the surface of planet Earth and all its ungodly inhabitants are destroyed by fire!

Keep these truths in your mind as we examine the details of the story of Joshua and the Israelites conquering the city of Jericho (for it will exhibit the same general prophetic layout) but will possess even more prophetic detail concerning the time surrounding Christ’s 2nd Coming!  I will be succinct with the details in this online chapter summary, but I greatly encourage you to read this chapter in the book to fully learn everything concerning them.

THE BATTLE PLAN

With the Israelites camped on the east side of the Jordan River (and the city of Jericho residing on the west side on the actual, physical land God deemed the Promise Land) God gave Joshua the following “battle plan”:

“And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war; and go round about the city once.  Thus shalt thou do SIX DAYS.  And seven priests shall bear before the ark (of the covenant) seven trumpets of ram’s horns: and the SEVENTH DAY ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.  And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and WHEN YE HEAR THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET, all the people shall SHOUT WITH A GREAT SHOUT; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ASCEND UP every man straight before him” (Joshua 6:3-5).

Can you imagine?  This “battle plan” must have seemed ridiculous to the Israelites!  I mean come on, this is not the logical way an army fights and conquers a city.  So what is the deal?   What was God’s reason and purpose behind this seeming madness?  Well, I have already told you this story is actually a secret PROPHETIC picture of Jesus Christ’s 2nd Coming.  So watch this!

God revealed the secret behind the “battle plan” almost 1,400 years later (around AD 90) by giving the Apostle John a detailed, prophetic vision of the events immediately preceding the 2nd Coming of the Lord — which he wrote in a book that is now included in the Bible called “The Revelation”.  Watch how God’s details to John precisely mirror His much earlier “battle plan” executed by Joshua:

“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with SEVEN SEALS” (The Revelation 5:1).

In John’s vision, only Jesus was worthy to open the seven seals.  As he does, each one speaks of specific horrible things that are coming to Earth immediately preceding Christ’s return.  But when Christ opens the seventh seal, watch what happens:

“And when he had opened the seventh seal … I saw the SEVEN ANGELS which stood before God; and to them were given SEVEN TRUMPETS” (The Revelation 8:1-2)

Do you remember in Joshua’s “battle plan” on the seventh day the Israelites were to walk around Jericho SEVEN times as seven priests walked before the Ark of the Covenant blowing their trumpets?  Well, here it is in The Revelation!  When Christ opens the seventh seal, SEVEN angels standing in front of God are to blow their trumpets in successive order in which each of these seven trumpet blasts bring forth further specific destruction on the godless inhabitants of Earth, paralleling the seven times the Israelites walked around Jericho on the seventh day.

THE LAST TRUMP

Next, remember after the Israelites walked around Jericho seven times on the seventh day, God wanted them to make one LOUD SHOUT at the hearing of the priest’s one long, sustained TRUMPET BLAST; after which, Jericho’s walls would fall down and the city would be destroyed.  So listen to what happens in John’s The Revelation after the seventh seal is opened and the seventh angel sounds its trumpet:

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (The Revelation 11:5).

Do you see?  This is precisely when Christ invades planet Earth and sets up his Kingdom reign.  In other words, it is his SECOND COMING!!!

Now, I want you to carefully notice something … Bible scholars understand the “seven seals period” of The Revelation represents the Great Tribulation period (possibly 7 years long) immediately preceding the Lord’s Return.  And everyone knows the following Bible verse represents the “catching away” or “rapture” of the believers into the air during Christ’s 2nd Coming:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven WITH A SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Do you see the same “SHOUT” and “TRUMPET BLAST” in this “rapture verse” as was used in Joshua’s battle plan?  And when did the “shout” and “trumpet blast” occur?  At the END of the seventh time around Jericho on the seventh day!!!  So do you understand when the rapture of the saints will occur by comparing Joshua’s events with the 7 seals of The Revelation?  Friend, it ALL occurs at the VERY END!!!  The trumpet blast, shout, and rapture all occur at the very end during mankind’s 6,000th year!  Therefore, please stop listening to pre-trib rapture fairy tales.

I am warning you to mentally prepare yourself for the coming Great Tribulation (as Jesus admonished in The Revelation) by resolutely determining in your heart (at ANY cost!) that you will NEVER take the mark the Beast will soon offer all Earth’s inhabitants in order that they might buy and sell dirt; for if you do, you will doom your soul to the Lake of Fire for all eternity.  Forsake the “love of money” right now, and learn to live by God’s self-sacrificial Way of Love towards Him and your neighbor.

THE DESTRUCTION BY FIRE

Now in the story of Joshua, after the trumpet was heard and the people shouted, notice God declared the WALLS of Jericho would fall down?  Why did God want this to happen?  Well, listen to what will happen all over planet Earth on that last great day of God’s wrath (at Christ’s 2nd Coming) spoken of directly through the 6th century BC prophet Ezekiel:

“Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking … so that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and ALL the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and EVERY WALL SHALL FALL TO THE GROUND … and I will rain upon him (mankind) … an overflowing rain (think Noah!), and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone” (Ezekiel 38:16-22).

Do you see?  This soon coming prophecy of Christ’s Return is the exact picture of what happened to Jericho when ALL its walls fell down!  Notice also in Ezekiel’s prophecy above that God declared He would destroy Earth with FIRE — as we also clearly learned would happen during Christ’s return in the story of Lot?  Well, listen to what the Israelites did to the entire city of Jericho:

“And they utterly destroyed ALL that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword … And they BURNT the city with FIRE, and ALL that was therein” (Joshua 6:21-24).

See, this real-life story of Joshua was prophetically perfect!  Notice also how they used a SWORD to kill everyone?  Well, listen to John’s words in The Revelation describing how Jesus will win the battle over Satan and his antichrist during his 2nd Coming to Earth:

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make WAR.  His eyes were as a flame of fire … And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses … And out of his mouth goeth a sharp SWORD, that with it he should smite the nations…” (The Revelation 19:11-15).

Yes, Joshua and his Israelite army destroyed EVERYTHING (even ALL the people) with a SWORD and FIRE, exactly as Christ and his army will do all over Earth during his 2nd Coming!

ONE HOUSE SAVED

Please read this chapter in the book for all the wonderful details (with there spiritual meaning) concerning how God miraculously SAVED only “one house” of people out of the Jericho before its destruction.  But for now, here are a few verses confirming God kept this part of the story prophetically accurate as well to again herald the “rapturous event of the righteous” of Christ’s house, to occur at Christ’s appearing, right before He burns Earth and ALL its ungodly inhabitants:

“Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and ALL that are with her in her HOUSE” (Joshua 6:16-17).

“And Joshua SAVED Rahab the harlot ALIVE, and her father’s HOUSEHOLD, and all that she had … because she hid the (two) messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho” (Joshua 6:25).

THE TWO WITNESSES

The last verse above brings up the next amazing prophetic detail from Joshua’s story!  Notice God impressed Joshua to send out TWO messengers (or spies) into the land of Jericho just before its annihilation?  Listen:

“And Joshua the son of Nun SENT OUT of Shittim TWO MEN to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land” (Joshua 2:1).

This too was to accurately foretell of the events that will transpire right before Christ’s 2nd Coming.  For in The Revelation, God made it clear why He had inspired Joshua to send out TWO messengers into Jericho:

“And I will give power unto my TWO WITNESSES, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth” (The Revelation 11:3).

Do you see?  Right before Christ’s 2nd Coming God will send out TWO WITNESSES to prophesy of the coming destruction, exactly as Joshua’s TWO spies had done in Jericho over 3,000 years ago!

Friend, I am urgently warning you to get ready (by cleaning up your life!) for the soon coming return of the Lord, for without a doubt the prophetic stories of Noah, Lot, and Joshua are all about to be intricately fulfilled!

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS

Do you remember from chapter 9 Moses I delved into the amazing subject of God’s 7 yearly Feasts (or “appointed times”) He established with the Israelites in the wilderness and how they were actually prophetic topics concerning the Messiah?  Then I revealed how Jesus fulfilled the first 4 of them precisely on their VERY yearly celebrated DAY(S) during his 1st Coming to Earth, during mankind’s 4,000th year.

Well, now I will list the names of the last 3 Feasts again, so you can recognize how the topics of each speak of the things (or events) the Messiah has yet to fulfill, but obviously will during his 2nd Coming:

  1. Feast of Trumpets
    Jesus Christ’s 2nd Coming
  2. Feast of Atonement
God officially forgives (atones) the resurrected righteous’ sins
  3. Feast of Tabernacles
God dwells with the resurrected righteous forever

Do you see what the fulfillment of the next Feast (appointment) on the schedule is about?  It foretells the TRUMPET BLAST that will occur during the Messiah’s 2nd Coming!  And just as all the other Feasts, God established a specific day (or time) for this Feast to be celebrated each year.  Do you observe how naïve we would be — after realizing how the Messiah precisely fulfilled the first 4 Feast on their VERY DAY(S) during his 1st Coming — to not realize Christ will fulfill this Feast on its VERY DAY, too?  Friend, HE WILL!!!

But here is the problem with the “timing”; this Feast day is the only one that occurs at the beginning of a lunar month (at a new moon phase) when the night sky is bereft of any moonlight for about 3 days.  So in ancient Israel, they never knew precisely the specific day or time of this Feast day, because they only determined the time of the first day of a new month by when they could observe the first sliver of light coming from the new crescent moon.  Maybe now you can understand why Jesus said the following words concerning the “timing” of his 2nd Coming:

“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, KNOW it is near, EVEN AT THE DOORS … But of that (very) day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:33-36).

See, he said we SHOULD KNOW when it is RIGHT AT THE DOOR!!!  But we will never know beforehand what exact day or hour it is on our Gregorian calendar.  Thus, I prophetically speak to you that Jesus Christ will return to Earth during a fall month of a solar year, at the phase of a new moon, during mankind’s 6,000th year (somewhere right around AD 2028), but I have no way of knowing when that specific day and hour is on our Gregorian calendar.

I humbly urge you to do yourself a favor and acquire the book I wrote and read it from beginning to end.  For in the remaining pages of this chapter I reveal further Biblical prophetic proof that Jesus will return to Earth during mankind’s 6,000th year, but more importantly I discuss an amazing analogy God gave me that will correctly orient your mind concerning ALL Scripture with the respect to what a soul MUST DO on Earth to obtain eternal life.
