THE GAME OF LIFE

The Bible says:

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy PLEASURE they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11).

Thus, God created all of Creation for His pleasure!  But how can that be?  How does His Creation bring pleasure to Him?  Friend, it is because He planned from the beginning (and even before that) to set Creation up like a game!!!

The best way to understand this is to consider how mankind creates games for his own pleasure, like the game of football, or soccer, or hockey, etc.  As people watch these games being played, they derive great pleasure from them…screaming and chanting as they root on who they want to win.  Every second of every play is exciting to behold!  THIS is how it is with God and His angels as they watch His Creation.

Now look, a game always has a playing field, a starting and ending time, rules, and players who can win or lose.  THIS is precisely how it is in God’s created Game of Life!  The playing field is planet Earth, the length of the game is 7,000 Earth trips around the sun, the rules are the 10 Love Commandments, and the players who can WIN or LOSE are God’s spirit children.

The Game of Life operates like this; each player (spirit child of God) is given a short time to play in the game on planet Earth.  After they come out, God assesses how they did!  If they win, their spirit (soul) will get to live forever (obtain eternal life), but if they lose, it will perish in a lake of fire (experience eternal darkness).

 

THE GARDEN OF EDEN

The story of Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden — God’s first 2 created ‘spirit children’ on planet Earth! — is the account of how the “option to lose” in the Game of Life was initiated for the souls of mankind.  Let’s take a look.

In the beginning, God created a beautiful garden on planet Earth called Eden and placed Adam & Eve in it.  Listen to the account:

“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.  And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the TREE OF LIFE also in the midst of the garden, and the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL” (Genesis 2:8-9).

In this story, the TREE OF LIFE (being with Adam & Eve’s spirits in the garden) represents God’s Spirit of pure Love dwelled with and in Adam & Eve’s spirits!  In other words, their souls were in perfect union with God’s Spirit, which means they had access to God (Life) whenever and as often as they liked.  Jesus said, “The Father (God) hath Life in Himself” (John 5:26).  An unbroken spiritual connection (with God’s Spirit of Love) manifests itself by a spirit feeling no pain, sensing no sorrow or fear, and not knowing work.  THAT is what it is like to be wholly and completely united with God’s Spirit!  And THAT was the wonderful state of Adam & Eve’s souls in the Garden of Eden.

God, also, gave mankind complete dominion over planet Earth:

“And God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion … OVER ALL THE EARTH” (Genesis 1:26).

God then gave Adam & Eve 1 Commandment (or Law) to obey:

“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying … But of the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, THOU SHALT NOT eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely DIE” (Genesis 2:16-17).

The reason God presented Adam & Eve with a choice to obey or disobey Him was because that was all He needed to be able to receive pleasure from them!  Listen, once a choice existed to obey or disobey, God could then experience the pleasure that comes from someone choosing to obey Him.  Do you understand?  See, a soul’s choice to obey God’s desires is a soul that proves by that ‘act of obedience’ they love, believe, and trust in Him!!!  Without a choice to disobey God, mankind would have been like robots.

 

THE SERPENT

During Creation, God also created hosts of “spirit beings” called angels.  He made them to be “ministering spirits” to Him and His spirit children on Earth.  Listen, since angels are made of the same “spirit material” as our souls, they can spiritually communicate with us!  We do not need to physically see them; they simply communicate directly into our thoughts, desires, and emotions.  And they are still doing this today!

Well, you know the story…the angel Lucifer coerced Eve into eating the forbidden fruit from the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL; then Adam ate, too.  But why did Lucifer (Satan) desire mankind to disobey (sin against) God?  In other words, what was his underlying motive and what did he stand to gain?

Listen to the 6th century BC prophet Ezekiel’s description of Lucifer in the Garden of Eden:

“Every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold … the day that thou was created…BY the MULTITUDE of thy MERCHANDISE they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and THOU HAST SINNED … Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness” (Ezekiel 28:13-17).

Wow!  It was selfish PRIDE acquired from his erroneous value placed on materialism (atoms)!!!  The 8th century BC prophet Isaiah gives us a glimpse into how this pride corrupted his spirit (thoughts, desires, and emotions):

“For thou hast said in thy heart (spirit), I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God … I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High (God) ” (Isaiah 14:13-14).

Oh, friend, can you hear the selfishness?  Can you hear the pride?  This is the spiritual mindset of someone who is on the verge of sinning and thereby going for a GREAT FALL!  (pr-I-de and s-I-n both have “I” at the center of them.)

Satan realized he could gain control (power) over God’s creation of planet Earth if he could get mankind (God’s spirit children) to disobey God and obey him.  Therefore, his pride manifested itself in the sin of a lie to Eve, which ultimately murdered mankind’s souls!  And Satan became the “God of this world”, holding the “power of death” over mankind’s souls.

 

SPIRITUAL DEATH

God told Adam & Eve the moment they sinned by disobeying His 1 Commandment (by eating the fruit from the TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL) they would DIE that VERY day.  What did He mean by this?  Adam lived to be 930 years old.  So what died the day Adam & Eve sinned?

Friend, this truth is crucial to understanding the Bible, so listen up: The death occurred in their hearts (spirits)!!!  (Remember, physical death on Earth is just a relocating of mankind’s spirit to another location or dimension … THAT IS NOT DEATH.)  Rather, Adam & Eve’s disobedience (sin) INSTANTLY separated their spirits from God’s Spirit of Love and Life; thus, they experienced instantaneous SPIRITUAL DEATH!

In the story of Adam & Eve this was all signified by the following:

• God drove Adam & Eve out of the Garden (where the Tree of Life stood) and placed angels to guard (or block) the WAY leading back to it. 
• God cursed the ground (atoms) so Adam’s spirit would now know work and sorrow in bringing forth food from it.
• God made the ground bring forth thorns and thistles, typifying the pain mankind’s spirits would now feel.
• God made childbirth painful for Eve so her spirit would experience sorrow.
• Adam & Eve’s spirits now (for the first time) felt the emotion of fear.

All of this together screams … mankind’s spirits were now SEPARATED from God’s perfect and pure Spirit of Love and Life!  To sum it up, mankind’s spirits would now know pain, sorrow, work.  THAT is spiritual death.

 

BONDAGE

This Biblical notion is even more crucial to comprehend in order to be able to understand what God was doing and saying through the details< He controlled to occur in the lives of certain ancient people (and their stories) that He later compiled into the Jewish Scriptures.  The concept is just another way of describing (or thinking about) SPIRITUAL DEATH.

The concept is BONDAGE!!!  Listen, when someone is forcibly and unwillingly separated from someone else … that is a bondage scenario.  Do you understand?  It is like being kidnapped; the capturers bind someone and place them in an area apart (or separated) from where they want to be.  THAT is bondage!

Well, Adam & Eve’s spirits were now separated from God’s Spirit; therefore, God looked at the situation like this … Adam & Eve’s spirits were now in bondage (separated from Him)!  And it was their sin that had put them in that condition!  So, to say it fully, Adam & Eve’s spirits were now in bondage to sin and its resulting death.  And sadly, this curse of death passed on to every future born spirit child, for everyone would sin at one time or another in their Earthly life (except of course Jesus):

“Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death (spiritual separation from God) by sin; and so death (spiritual separation from God) passed upon all men, for that ALL HAVE SINNED” (Romans 5:12).

Another way the Bible explains this spiritual bondage situation is to declare … mankind’s souls were now UNDER THE LAW (of sin and death).  In other words, mankind’s souls were now under the spiritual death penalty God had proclaimed would occur if they sinned by disobeying His 1 Law!

 

THE PROMISE

Before driving Adam & Eve out of the Garden of Eden, God made an obscure, prophetic promise to them (while talking to Satan) giving them assurance and hope that He had a plan to one day release them out of their bondage to sin.  Listen:

“And I will put enmity between thee (Satan) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed, IT (the woman’s seed) shall BRUISE thy (Satan’s) head, and thou (Satan) shalt BRUISE HIS (the woman’s seed) heel” (Genesis 3:15).

Do you see it?  God was foretelling of a special man child (born of the seed of a woman) who would one day be able to BRUISE Satan’s head (seat of power) and take back the power of spiritual death he held over mankind’s souls.  This man-child is better known as a MESSIAH!  A messiah is a deliverer!!!  Thus, this wonderful Messiah would be able to deliver mankind’s souls out of bondage to sin; thereby, opening up a way for them to return again to perfect union with God’s Spirit (meaning obtain eternal life).

 

THE PLAN

So how would this work?  What was this secret plan of deliverance God had concocted?  Friend, it was and is AWESOME!  Here is the gist of it:

• God would supernaturally impregnate a woman with HIS seed, in order to create an Earthly man who would not carry sin’s curse of spiritual death.
• This man would live on Earth and NEVER sin!  Only the wages of sin = spiritual death: “For the wages of sin is (spiritual) death” (Romans 6:23).
• This loving man would willingly choose to experience spiritual death (a death sentence for sin that he did not owe)!
• In God’s eyes then, this man’s “sinless death” would be a worthy sacrifice or payment to make atonement for mankind’s sins.
• This means this man’s “sinless death” could be used to pay (in full) the spiritual death sentence a man’s soul should pay eternally for the sins he committed.
• This equates to … through this man’s “sinless death” a man’s soul could have his sins FORGIVEN (meaning the spiritual death penalty he was under and rightfully deserved would be revoked).
• And this means the person’s soul could return to perfect union with God’s Spirit of Love and Life, which means … ETERNAL LIFE!

So there it is!  And the deliverance plan was to remain one grand, colossal secret to mankind until their 4,000th year, when Jesus Christ DIED, spiritually, and forever became mankind’s Messiah and the fulfillment of God’s wonderful plan!

The plan is also known Biblically as the “plan of deliverance”, the “plan of redemption”, and/or the “plan of salvation”.  Please understand these three terms are all one and the same!  They all speak of what mankind’s Messiah (Jesus Christ) did for mankind’s souls:

• Delivered our souls out of our bondage to sin.
• Redeemed our souls from the curse of the Law.
• Saved our souls from eternal spiritual death.

So, again, deliverance, redemption, and salvation are synonymous terms.

Listen to just a few Bible verses speaking of God’s plan:

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the MAN Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom (payment) for all” (I Timothy 2:5-6).

“Forasmuch then as the children (God’s spirit children) are partakers of flesh and blood, he (Jesus Christ) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through (spiritual) death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Lucifer or Satan); and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15).

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste (spiritual) death for every man” (Hebrews 2:9).

 

MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION

The most important question a soul living on planet Earth could ever ask is … WHAT MUST I DO TO OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE?  In other words, what did/does a spirit child of God have to DO during his/her brief existence living on planet Earth to receive the “forgiveness for sins” Jesus Christ would make available to all?

Logic will tell you that it is NOT learning the story of the man Jesus Christ and then mentally acknowledging that story is true!  Do you understand?  For NO spirit child of God living on planet Earth for the first 4,000 years of mankind had any chance of hearing or learning that story and then mentally acknowledging (or believing) it was true, because it hadn’t happened yet!

Friend, please understand God is absolutely fair in the Game of Life to ALL His spirit children, for He loves them all the same.  In other words, He did not require His spirit children to DO one thing (to obtain eternal life) for the first 4,000 years of mankind and then completely change that requirement to something else for His spirit children living in the last 2,000 years!  Do you understand?

Listen carefully … WHAT MANKIND MUST DO TO OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE HAS ALWAYS REMAINED THE SAME SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME!!!  So what is it?  I know you already know, for God placed the information inside everyone!!!  Yes, every spirit child of God (no matter when or where they lived on planet Earth) has known what THEY needed to DO to obtain eternal life.  How about praising your heavenly Father for being perfectly fair to all mankind!

 

KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL

The answer to the question rests in the story of Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden!  After sinning, by eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, listen to God’s pronouncement about the CHANGE that occurred in their souls (and therefore ALL future born mankind’s souls):

“Behold, the man is become as one of us, TO KNOW GOOD AND EVIL” (Genesis 3:22).

Ah, do you see?  Do you know what that means?  Do you know the difference between good and evil?  OF COURSE YOU DO!!!  And it is totally and completely wrapped up in the 10 Love Commandments: Obeying them is good and disobeying them is evil.  It is that simple!  Yes, the moment Adam & Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, their hearts instantly knew the 10 Love Commandments.

Interestingly, to confirm this point, God neatly included each of these sins in ancient Bible stories that happened long before He gave the spoken and written 10 Love Commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai.  (Read my book for this information, or just keep an open eye out for them as you read through the book of Genesis.)

Yes, please understand every spirit child of God ever born on planet Earth has known the difference between good and evil (as outlined by obeying or disobeying the 10 Love Commandments, respectively) because they are innately (or automatically) known in mankind’s hearts!

 

REPENTANCE

So, to follow after the “Way of Good” by always striving to keep (or obey) the 10 Love Commandments is ALL God expects of a spirit child on Earth for them to receive the “forgiveness for sins” He made available through His Son, Christ Jesus — which ultimately will obtain their soul eternal life.

Some people live this way their entire life (like John the Baptist for instance), but others willingly live evilly (disobeying the 10 Love Commandments) for awhile on Earth and must choose to make a change in their life at some point to doing good (obeying the 10 Love Commandments) and then continue in that manner until the day they physical die on Earth (or meet Jesus in the air at His 2nd Coming) to obtain eternal life.  The Bible has a special word for this latter case … REPENT!!!

The original Greek word translated “repent” in the Biblical manuscripts means:

To repent, TO CHANGE any or all of the elements composing one’s life: attitude, thoughts, and behaviors concerning the demands of God for RIGHT living.

Friend, this means to change ALL of the thoughts and behaviors in your life that do not line up currently to God’s 10 Holy Love Commandments.  It is that straightforward!  THAT is what “to repent” means.

I will teach you later (in chapter 11, Love) that someone who lives this daily “repentant lifestyle” is simply someone who lives a self-sacrificial life of love towards God and their neighbor (obeys the Golden Rule).  So all someone is thinking and doing (who constantly strives to keep the 10 Love Commandments) is living a life of LOVE!  And THAT is all God requires of His spirit children on Earth for them to win in the Game of Life and receive eternal life for their soul!

Listen to the Prophets:

“Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions (sins); so iniquity shall not be your ruin … make you a new heart and a new spirit” (Ezekiel 18:30-31).

“For they repented at the preaching of Jonah” – Jesus (Luke 11:32)

Listen to John the Baptist:

“Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2).

“preaching … repentance FOR the remission (forgiveness) of sins” (Luke 3:3).

Listen to Jesus:

“Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17).

“except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

“They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mark 2:17).

“Likewise, I say unto you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” (Luke 15:10).

Listen to the Disciples:

“And they went out, and preached that men should repent” (Mark 6:12).

Listen to Peter:

“Repent … FOR the remission (forgiveness) of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ … Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things (mankind’s 6,000th year!)” (Acts 3:19-21).

“The Lord is … not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (II Peter 3:9).

Listen to Paul:

“Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God … (He) commandeth ALL men every where to repent: Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world” (Acts 17:29-31).

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation” (II Corinthians 7:10).

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from DARKNESS to LIGHT, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they MAY receive forgiveness of sins … they should repent and turn to God” (Acts 26:18).

(Maybe now you can see the incredible significance behind what God had prophesied to happen during mankind’s first 1,000 years on planet Earth through Day 1 of the Creation story!)

 

SATAN’S FATE

Because Satan’s evil originated in his own heart, God gave him (and the angels who sided with him in his rebellion towards God) no chance at reconciliation.  Rather, God prepared a lake of fire for him and his demonic angels, and they will be cast into that fire at the close of 7,000 years:

“And the devil (Satan) that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone … and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelation 20:10).

But to complete the setup of His Game of Life in the Garden of Eden (with respect to His spirit children and their eternal fate) God chose to allow Satan and his demonic cohorts to run free over planet Earth for 6,000 years, constantly tempting the souls of mankind to disobey God’s desire for them to live a life of love as outlined by obeying the 10 Love Commandments.

So THAT is ALL Satan desires to accomplish on Earth!!!  He hates God and His spirit children so much so that all he cares about is taking as many of them as he can into the lake of fire with him!  And to accomplish that, he knows that all he has to do is get them to continually life a life in willful disobedience to God’s 10 Love Commandments.

Sadly, Satan works his deception most in the mainstream church world.  For He loves to come up with non-Biblical, religious-sounding, catch phrases to confuse people and convince them that they really don’t need to repent of sin to obtain eternal life.  I will expose these deceptions throughout my book.

 

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

Friend, the stakes in the Game of Life are extremely high … Your priceless souls eternal destiny is on the line!  And the game is almost over!!!  If the first 6,000 years of mankind’s history could be equated to a 60 minute football game … approximately 11 seconds would be left on the clock right now!

I cannot warn you any clearer or louder … YOU MUST REPENT OF YOUR SINS IF YOU WANT TO OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE!!!  I will delve into them all (the don’t side and the do side of the 10 Love Commandments) in detail in chapter 10, Wilderness, and then reveal to you the root desire in chapter 16, Love of Money, that Satan desperately tries to embed into your spirit (heart) to ensure you will willingly live a life on Earth in disobedience to them.

For now, though, I will leave you with the Word of God, in respect to the final judgment awaiting ALL God’s spirit children:

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened … and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS … and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:12-15).

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath (willingly) sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Exodus 32:33).

“Blessed are they that (willingly) DO his (10 Love) Commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:14).

“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have (willingly) DONE GOOD, unto the resurrection of LIFE; and they that have (willingly) DONE EVIL, unto the resurrection of the damnation” (John 5:28, 29).

“Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good.  He that DOETH GOOD is of God: but he that DOETH EVIL hath not seen God” (III John 1:11).

“He (God) will punish sin wherever it is found.  He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had God’s written laws (Bible), for down in their hearts they KNOW right from wrong.  God’s laws are written WITHIN them; their own conscience accuses them … And God will punish the Jews for sinning because they have his written laws (Bible) but don’t obey them.  They know what is right but don’t DO it.  After all, salvation is NOT given to those who KNOW what to do, UNLESS THEY DO IT.  The day will surely come when at God’s command Jesus Christ will judge the secret lives of EVERYONE, their inmost thoughts and motives; this is all part of God’s great PLAN which I proclaim” (Romans 2:12-16, Living Bible).
